Terry Lynn JohnsonTerry Lynn Johnson is the author of middle grade adventures based on her experiences in the wilds of northern Ontario, Canada, including Falcon Wild (Charlesbridge), Ice Dogs, Sled Dog School , and Survivor Diaries, a series for reluctant readers(Houghton Mifflin Harcourt).

She has lived in northern Ontario Canada for over 40 years and grew up on a lake where her parents owned a Lodge. A nature enthusiast, she has explored Lake Huron with her family on their 26-foot sailboat, and traveled over 2,000 kilometers on kayak expeditions in the Great Lakes, Alaska and Nova Scotia.

Terry is a certified canoe instructor and was the owner/operator of a dogsledding business with 18 huskies where she guided overnight trips and slept in quinzees.

She currently works as a Conservation Officer with the Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry in the Northern Marine Enforcement Unit. She has 15 years of practical hands on experience and training in cold water marine environments as well as in remote areas. She has training with the Canadian Coast Guard, wilderness first aid, and is qualified to operate vessels up to 60 Tons. Before becoming a Conservation Officer, she worked for 12 years as a Canoe Ranger Warden in Quetico Wilderness Park.

In her free time, Terry enjoys snowshoeing, hiking, and dreaming up ways to survive in the outdoors.
